A large part of Gard Plasticases work is the manufacture of foam interiors to compliment our range of plastic cases. We try to keep things simple for our customers by providing as many services as we can under one roof, and the design and fabrication of the foam inners is a key part of our service.
You may be thinking, ‘isn’t foam just foam’…..well, err, no! Your choice of insert material is crucial and is a key part in making sure your case and its contents perform to your expectations. Obviously if you are unsure we are more than happy to give you the benefit of our experience.
The types of foam we use are:
- Polyester & Polyether (These can be covered in different colours of nylon)
- LD18 and LD45 grade Plastazote Foam.
- Fire Retardant foams
Our most commonly used foams are polyester, polyether, LD18 and LD45 plastazotes.
Our polyester and polyether foams are lower grade open cell foams. They are still hard wearing and high quality but offer more flexibility and soft cushioning. They are particularly suited to light weight goods and are a great option when a more economical inlay is required.
The LD18 and LD45 Plastazote foams are closed cell and higher density. They are water repellent and offer superior protection for heavy products. Due to their closed cell nature they have a smooth finish that presentation kits often require.
